I wish the program was weighted with the UPA work being on the (appropriately) lighter side of the scale, but silly beggars can’t be choosers and it promises to be a great show nonetheless.

I did very little in putting this show together except for listening and relishing the details John Canemaker shared with me. He, Emily Hubley and Patrick Harrison (from the Academy) put it together.

The Hubley show was just wonderful and the collection of films was very impressive. To top the evening off, I read the Hubley interview you posted last week. All in all, it was a very inspirational evening!

Pierre, I’m sorry you didn’t come up to say hello. It would have been nice to have met you. The show was good. I took a lot of pictures and will post them and write about the show later in the week.

Michael, it was nice seeing you again and meeting John Canemaker. The program was brilliant. It also gave me great pleasure to bring Ed Smith to the event. Ed was one of the animators at the Hubley studio in the late 50′s and early 60′s and was thrilled to see his work again on the big screen.
