Susie Board 1
- Last week, I posted the galleys for Bill Peet ‘s book art for Susie, the Little Blue Coupe. I can’t say for sure that it ever became a book, but I do know it was a film completed in 1951.

There’s an interesting in-joke in this short. When Susie is stuck in traffic, she is next to an ice truck with “Peet Ice” painted on the side.
I think it would be in board A4a – it’s not in the storyboard, only in the final film.
(Remember in pre-refrigerator days, ice was delivered to your door.)
It’s also interesting to see which scenes were not in the completed short, like the country drive (A5a & A5b). And when the owner buys a new car, the boards show the new model, but in the short, it cuts straight from “What I need is a new car” to Susie sitting in the used car lot, thus keeping the plot centered on Susie and not de-railing it to another character.

Currently it sounds like Movable Type is the top blogging
platform available right now. (from what I’ve read) Is that what you are using
on your blog?
