Milt Kahl’s Alice – 1

- Here’s a scene from Alice in Wonderland that was animated bit Milt Kahl. I’ll post the first half of the scene here, and will follow with the rest next week. I also have a scene that follows, and I’ll post that, as well.

Thanks to Lou Scarborough Jr. for the loan of the art work.

Sorry, Michael. This scene was actually animated by Milt Kahl. I have been at the ARL and checked this scene. Please, correct the post.
    Cheers.

You’re right, Sandro. I misread the draft. I’ve corrected the post. Thanks for the catch.

It does seem alot faster in pencil than I remember it in color? The part where she laughs is very fast?

The last half of the laugh is in Part 2 next week. It still moves very quickly.

Excellent. Milt Kahl draws a very appealing Alice.

I wonder how many iterations this is? It’s awfully clean with very little under sketching going on for such complicated action.

The charts I know Milt would do but who does the notes for color?

Very entertaining scene. Although, we hardly see a lot of Kahl in “Alice in Wonderland” – he doesn’t appear to animate as much as I thought he would – although the animation is fine, but I just don’t think it’s Kahl’s best assignments, not as good as his Medusa, or Pinocchio, or even Shear Kahn.

Now, that my Alice in Wonderland mosaics are currently in the posts – I guess it feels right to post the scenes? Right?
