Wild in NYC

- Steven Fisher caught the following photos in the back yards of Queens, NY.
Wildlife remains wild, even in the City. This is a hawk feeding on a small animal it’s caught.

Those are gorgeous. Several years ago, we had a hawk land on a chain link fence in our yard in Toronto and I snapped as many photos of it as I could.

Having grown up in Queens, the wildlife was limited to grey squirrels in my neighborhood. In Toronto, there’s no shortage of raccoons, skunks, black squirrels and the occasional hawk. In Toronto’s outlying regions, they’ve had problems with coyotes poaching small pets.
