Tripp’s Sir Toby Jingle – part 2

- Last week we saw the first half of Wallace Tripp‘s book, Sir Toby Jingle’s Beastly Journey. Today we conclude our post of the book. Wallace Tripp is certainly an influence on many animator’s work. His fluid drawings look like animation work. Many thanks to Bill Peckmann for scanning the book and sending these pages on to us.

Here, then, is part 2:

I love it! I’m still laughing.
I enjoyed the use of a narrator and word balloons, plus the illustrations are beautiful.

Haven’t done more than glance over this part of the book but will certainly read it sometime.

Thanks for providing this. It is an incredible work. What a great approach and what great drawings!

And, Mr. Sporn, I doubt Richard Williams* is working on your Poe feature and I doubt you need or want visual inspirations but you may be interested in these from a historical standpoint:

*If there was animation even close to that stylistic approach, I’d jump to guessing Williams would be involved. ha. ha.

Thanks for posting this, it was one of my favorite books as a kid. I still have my copy on the bookshelf as I write this.
